Animals can benefit as much as we do when receiving Reiki energy. They experience effects that are also individual to themselves, just as we do – sometimes they feel calmer and more relaxed after a session, other times more energised, depending on the balance of energy.
Animals also experience a wide range of emotion and feeling – when we watch a dog run around a park with its tongue hanging out, rolling about on the grass, or have been in the presence of an animal who has lost a much loved companion, we know that animals experience a wide range of emotion, from joy and contentment to loss and grief.
Animals have energy vortices and an energy body that are affected by these emotions and experiences and they often respond very well to energy therapies including Reiki and Crystal Therapy – my own companion animals receive Reiki regularly and often choose crystal infused water over tap water. Energy therapies are a gentle, non invasive way to support animal health and well being using a holistic approach.
Reiki can be performed with a variety of animals, big and small. From cats and dogs, to rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, snakes, chickens, horses, pigs, cows and fish. Reiki can be performed with the presence of the animal or from a distance – animals often respond extremely well to remote healing, having a greater sensitivity to its subtleties.
In Attendance Sessions – Consultation and Treatment for Companion Animals
As an initial assessment, there is a Consultation Form to complete, outlining details of the animal including daily habits, age, temperament, the personality of the animal and any other animals within the living quarters. Just like humans, it is important to receive permission from the animal, and I do this intuitively – often the message is very clear either way!
Sometimes the energy is most welcome and at other times the animal feels it is not right for them at that particular time and it is important to respect this.
A home visit within Glasgow for one companion animal is £60 – please contact me for more information on the areas of the city that are covered. Reiki sessions with animals take their own time, and the length of the session may vary accordingly, but it is expected to be around 1 hour.

Remote Healing Sessions – Consultation and Treatment
Animals respond incredibly well to Reiki ‘at a distance’, often being more sensitive to its subtle vibrations than humans. Remote healing is most useful for animals both prior to and after a procedure or when the animal is not mobile. During a remote healing session, the animal will ideally be in a quiet, safe and comfortable space for the duration of the session and a similar space available to them where they are allowed to rest afterwards if required. Sometimes if there are other animals that share the home or space where the intended animal lives, they often make an appearance too, keen to be part of the healing energy!
If you would like to book a Remote Healing session, please click on the Remote Animal Reiki Healing Session button, which opens in a new tab and takes you to Flourish’s online booking system, where you can select a date and time. Please also complete the contact form below. Available appointments are in light blue. Most remote healings are conducted during the evenings.
I will confirm your appointment within 24 hours by phone or email and to arrange payment, payable securely over the phone using a credit or debit card or online via PayPal (a PayPal account is not required), and to finalise any details before the session. 25% of all remote healing session payments are donated to animal welfare organisations, including Glendrick Roost, Animal Aid and TOLFA.
