Hello, and thank you for your interest in Flourish.
I’m Andrea, Complementary and Alternative Medicine Practitioner and owner of Flourish.
I’ve been an advocate of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) for many years, beginning my professional journey in 2001 as an Assistant Clinic Manager for a large holistic health clinic in Glasgow. Prior to this, I worked in Analytical Chemistry for over 10 years in the medical and pharmaceutical industry. This has provided me with a unique perspective and insight into health, considering both conventional approaches and holistic methods.
I’ve been a practicing Therapist since 2005 and have the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, providing treatment plans to help manage a variety of health conditions. My work is a vocation – I love what I do. Holistic therapies are an integral part of my life and a continual personal and professional learning and development process.
I have a person centred approach, specialising in treatment plans that are as individual as you are. I incorporate therapies in a down to earth way so that their many benefits can become a natural part of day to day living for my clients. My therapeutic areas of expertise are Massage, Clinical Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Energy Healing and Metaphysical Medicine, including Reiki and Crystal Therapy. I also provide natural, botanical topical applications for my clients for specific conditions.
Animal Therapies and Holistic Healing
I also provide holistic therapy services to the animal kingdom, specifically Reiki sessions. I am a trained and qualified Animal Reiki Practitioner, certificated by SARA, the Shelter Animal Reiki Association. I have had some exceptional results with both in attendence and remote healing sessions and I also offer this energy therapy to my own companion animals. For more information, please contact me using the form below or visit the Animal Reiki page.
I have worked in partnership with many different organisations, including Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, South Lanarkshire College, DeafBlind Scotland, independent teaching academies and course providers, where I teach professional holistic therapy courses for student professional therapists, lecturing classes and provide workshops, courses and stress management techniques. I also provide therapies and well being self management tools to carers providing support to those with long term or life limiting conditions.
I facilitate Usui Reiki Training Courses: Level 1 – Introductory, Level 2 – Practitioner, Level 3 – Master and Master Teacher Training and I also offer one to one training. Please visit the Reiki Courses pages or contact me for details.
Social and Therapeutic Horticulture
I have worked as a Lecturer in Horticulture within further education and am involved in Therapeutic Horticulture, using plants and gardens to improve physical, mental and emotional health and well being. Being involved in social and horticultural projects, including working with women affected by abuse and substance addiction, I have experienced first hand the transformative effects of tending plants in order to nurture ourselves, even when we have had very little experience of that ourselves. I am an enthusiastic advocate of the healing power of nature, understanding that we are nature and not separate from it.
I am a Shamanic Practitioner conducting Healing, Power Retrieval, Soul Retrieval and Extraction ceremonies. Shamanism is an age old practice of connecting with alternate spiritual realms to help initiate change, healing and self development. I have trained under Fotoula Adrimi, a highly experienced Shamanic Teacher who was invited to train with Sandra Ingerman. You will find more information on Shamanic healing ceremonies here.

I’m a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and the International Council of Holistic Therapists, the UK and Ireland’s largest professional association for complementary and sports therapists. The FHT only allows member registration of therapists who have undertaken training that meets the National Occupational Standards (NOS) of skill, competency and safety for each therapy, by means of relevant experience of at least three years and/or relevant training, and have been assessed by their peers as having met those standards. The register is independently accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, a body accountable to Parliament.
If you would like to know more about my professional memberships and qualifications, you can find details of them here.
